Launch of pilot project For safe party spaces

With the upcoming festival season, it’s important to remember that involuntary intoxication and sexual assault can be exacerbated in festive contexts. That’s why the Table de concertation des groupes de femmes de la Gaspésie et des Îles-de-la-Madeleine (TCGF-GÎM) and its partners, Mi-Chemin de Gaspé, Calacs La Bôme-Gaspésie and Calacs L’Espoir des Îles have combined their expertise to set up the pilot project Festif & Safe : Tout le monde y veille (For safe party spaces).

The aim of the project is to support the region’s venues in implementing effective prevention measures that are guilt-free for victims.

Four major events and cultural spaces, that draw crowds from outside the region, are well aware of the problem and quickly confirmed their interest in participating in the project and benefiting from the tools that will be developed.

Well aware of the problem, the Festiplage, the BleuBleu, the Festival Musique du Bout du Monde as well as the Sea Shack quickly confirmed their interest in participating in the project.
