Festif & Safe’s toolbox
As part of the For safe party spaces project, the Table de concertation féministe Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine and its partners created various tools that were used, during the summer of 2023, in five festivals and festive venues in the region.
The objectives were to raise awareness and create a sense of safety among people attending festivals, and thus prevent sexual assaults and involuntary intoxication. It’s important to remember that these crimes can be exacerbated in festive contexts.
Thumbnails and posters have been created to remind everyone of the attitudes and behaviours expected to celebrate with a sense of comfort, safety and respect. We encourage festivals, bars and other social spaces to display the following images or to use them as source of inspiration.
